Opportunity offered to Cortland’s Barber

Cortland High sophomore Noah Barber has a golden opportunity and is asking for some assistance.

Barber, who played varsity baseball and football with the Purple Tigers during his freshman year, traveled to Troy for a recent baseball training and testing session. He did such a good job that he was invited to participate in some sessions at the Baseball Factory being conducted Aug. 7-13 at Pirate City in Bradenton, Florida.

Pirate City is the spring training facility for the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Barber and his family are now looking to raise funds to help with trip expenses that include the cost to get to Florida and the week-long stay.

The Barbers have set up an on-line page on Go Fund Me and are encouraging people to make donations there. Just go to and type Noah Barber in the search area. A link to his page will appear and you click on that to go to his page to make the donation.

The Barber family will also accept any returnable bottles and cans you may have. They can be dropped off at their house and they will return them for you.

For more information or questions, contact mother Arlene Barber at 607-591-5723.
