The SUNY Cortland women’s lacrosse team is ranked 11th nationally in the Nike/USLacrosse preseason Division III poll and is ranked 14th in the preseason by the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA).

Fifth-year head coach Kelly Orr has led Cortland to an impressive 73-12 (.859) combined record over her first four seasons. The Red Dragons finished with a 16-5 mark last season and earned their 20th consecutive State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) title. Additionally, Cortland tied for 17th nationally in the NCAA playoffs.

In 2015, Cortland won the NCAA Division III Women’s Lacrosse national championship. The Red Dragons have made 22 NCAA tournament appearances, including each of the last 20 years. Cortland has advanced to the national “final four” six times in the last eight seasons.

Cortland opens the season at national #15/19 Ithaca on March 2. March 20, and at home against #17/18 St. John Fisher April 4.

The Red Dragon men’s lacrosse team is ranked nationally in two Division III preseason polls. The Red Dragons are ranked 18th by US Lacrosse Magazine and 19th by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA).

Head coach Steve Beville enters his 13th season with the Red Dragons this spring. Last year, Cortland finished 12-7, won the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) title and earned a berth into the NCAA Division III tournament. The Red Dragons lost 16-12 at the eventual national champion, Wesleyan (Conn.), in the NCAA second round and tied for 17th nationally.

Cortland has played in the NCAA tournament each of the last 18 years. The Red Dragons won national titles in 2006 and 2009, finished second in 2007, 2008 and 2012, and lost in the semifinals in 2003, 2010 and 2013.

season national top five — home games against #4/4 Tufts on March 3 and #3/5 RIT on April 3, along with a rematch with Wesleyan at St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., on March 22. Cortland
