DRYDEN — A woman who police say was stabbed by her boyfriend this morning in Dryden is in critical condition in a hospital, according to the Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office.
The suspect, who police would not identify, was also stabbed, police said.
Sheriff’s deputies responded at 5:54 a.m. to Hanshaw Village Mobile Park on Lake County Avenue in Dryden. They found a woman with multiple stab wounds and provided first aid until Dryden Ambulance Inc. arrived. She was taken to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse, where she remains in critical condition.
The woman told deputies she was stabbed by her boyfriend prior to leaving the home and seeking help from a neighbor.
The Ithaca Special Weapons and Tactics and Critical Negotiations teams were activated, who arrested the man without incident.
The man was also found to have stab wounds. He was treated by Dryden Ambulance Inc. and then taken to Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, Pennsylvania.
Deputies did not identify either party.
New York State Police, the Cayuga Heights Police Department, Cornell University Police, the Ithaca Police Department and Dryden Ambulance Inc. assisted at the scene.
