Early voting to start October 24

Early voting will be Oct. 24 to Nov. 1.

Cortland County offers one early-voting station, at the Cortland County Board of Elections at 112 River St., Cortland. People with disabilities will enter through the front of the building, while others will enter at the rear of the building.

Tompkins County offers two sites: Ithaca Town Hall, 215 N. Tioga St., Ithaca; and Crash Fire Rescue, 72 Brown Road, Ithaca.

Cayuga County offers three sites: Venice Town Office, 2479 Route 34; Clifford Park Clubhouse, 81 Mary St., Auburn; Cato Town Office, 11320 Shortcut Road;.

VOTING BY MAIL

Gov. Andrew Cuomo has issued an executive order allowing anyone to request an absentee ballot due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

All voters can request a ballot at https://absenteeballot.elections.ny.gov/

By county:

Cortland County — Voters can get an application at www.cortland-co.org/182/Elections. People should mark the reason for the absentee as having a “temporary illness” if they are requesting one due to the virus.

The ballot can be returned in person to the Board of Elections from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays until Nov. 3 or returned by mail. Make sure it is post-marked by Nov. 3.

Tompkins County — Voters can get an application at https://tompkinscountyny.gov/boe.

Cayuga County — Voters can get an application at https://www.cayugacounty.us/196/Board-of-Elections.
