Cortland County reports no new cases
Cortland County reported no new cases of COVID-19 on Friday, the number of confirmed cases remaining 4,588.
The number of people who have contracted the virus rose to 15,284 across Cortland, Tompkins and Cayuga counties since the pandemic began in March 2020. No new deaths were reported, the number of people who have died from the virus remained 208.
- The Cortland County Health Department was monitoring seven patients, two of them confirmed positive. One person is hospitalized. Since the pandemic began, 220 people have been hospitalized. The Cortland County Health Department has received 127,078 negative test results. The county has reported 64 deaths.
- Tompkins County reported one new case Friday. The number of confirmed cases rose to 4,357, reports the state Health Department. A total of 2,394,374 people have been tested. Fifty-two Tompkins residents have died.
- In Cayuga County, the state Health Department reported one new case Friday. Confirmed cases rose to 6,340. The state reports 202,601 people have been tested. Ninety-two people have died, the state reports.
130,989 receive COVID vaccine in 3 counties
The state Health Department has reported that 23,243 Cortland County residents have received at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine, or 48.6% of the county’s total population and 57.1% of its adults. A total of 45.3% of the county has been fully vaccinated.
In Tompkins County, 69,555 people have received at least one dose, or 67.7% of the population and 75.3% of its adults; 63.4% are fully vaccinated. In Cayuga County, 38,191 residents have received at least one dose, or 49.5% of the total population and 58.5% of its adults; 45.9% are fully vaccinated.
Statewide, 11.42 million people have received at least one dose, or 59.3% of the state’s population and 71.5% of its adults; 52.7% of the total population and 63.9% of adults are fully vaccinated.
