BARBER — Donald Eugene Barber Sr., 92, of Marathon, N.Y., died Aug. 3, 2017. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of the 11 a.m. service Wednesday at the Marathon Methodist Church, 16 Main St., Marathon.

CRUZ — Susan Ackley Cruz, 68, of Homer, N.Y., died Aug. 4, 2017. There will be a small memorial gathering from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday in the memorial garden at Grace Christian Fellowship of Cortland. 

GAMEL — Frances T. Gamel, 89, of Groton, N.Y., died Aug. 4, 2017. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Shurtleff Funeral Home, 103 Lincoln Ave., Groton. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Groton Rural Cemetery.

BELL — Fayanne Bell, 73, of Cortland, N.Y., died Aug. 2, 2017. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Homer First United Methodist Church.

DELLOW — Gary Rae Dellow, 70, of McLean, N.Y., died Aug. 2, 2017. Perkins Funeral Home.

HUBBARD — Donald J. Hubbard, 62, of German, N.Y., died Aug. 2, 2017. There will be no prior calling hours or funeral service.  Arrangements have been entrusted to the K.L. Sharp Funeral Home, Cincinnatus.

BELL — Fayanne Bell, 73, of Cortland, died Wednesday at her home surrounded by her family. A full obituary will follow.

RICE — Madlien “Midge” N. Rice, 93, of Cuyler, N.Y., died Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2017, at the Cortland Regional Nursing Facility, Cortland, N.Y. A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family. There will be no prior calling hours. A public celebration of life will be held at the Cuyler Fire Department at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 5, 2017.

DODGE — Raymond W. Dodge, of Marathon, N.Y., died Aug. 1, 2017. Calling hours are 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home in Cortland. Funeral services will be 11 a.m.
Friday at the funeral home with burial to follow.

HILL — Jo-ann C. Hill, of Cortland, N.Y., died July 31, 2017. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Glenwood Cemetery, Homer.

KALANDROS — Alice J. Kalandros, 79, of Groton, N.Y., died
July 31, 2017. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by the Zirbel Funeral Home, 115 Williams St., Groton.
WHITE — Russell E. White died July 19, 2017, in Cortland, N.Y. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Wright Beard Funeral Home in Cortland.

CONNELLY — Stanley J. Connelly Sr. of Walden Place, Cortland, N.Y., and formerly of Virgil, N.Y., died July 30, 2017.Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Perkins Funeral Home. Burial with military honors will follow at Virgil Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, 55 W. Main St., Dryden.

PAI — Phyllis J. Pai, 77, of Sierra Vista, Ariz., formerly of Groton, N.Y., died July 31, 2017. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by the Zirbel Funeral Home, 115 Williams St., Groton.

RILEY — Louise M. Riley, 90, of Homer, N.Y., died July 30, 2017. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. Margaret’s Roman Catholic Church, 14 Copeland Ave., Homer, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be held from 10 to noon Wednesday at the Donald L. Barber Funeral Home, 5016 US Route 11, Homer.
